It's been almost a year - why can't I move on?

Three days prior to my birthday last September, my ex and I broke up. We had only been together for 9 months, but he meant everything to me. I was in love one day and beyond heartbroken the next.
I've tried going on dates several times since the break up, but I'm not sure why I just can't connect to really great men. The brick wall that I built in my mind after we broke up doesn't seem to be getting any smaller as time goes on.
I keep telling myself that I'm ready to give a deserving man my heart, but can't seem to actually go through with it.
I feel so stuck, I could use some help of any kind, please.

I agree with the previous post, it does sound like you're still in love with this guy. I'm wondering if you still see him around though, cuz that must make things alot harder to deal with...you know, constant reminders and what not...If anything though, maybe you should talking to him, assuming you're still in good terms with each other. that may be hellpful...maybe there are a few things that you need to tell him?/get off your chest? I think u still have feeling for your ex BF, i also had the same situation like u i spend 8years with ma ex BF when we broke up its was really had for me to let it and him go, but one day i decided to let him go out of ma life and now i got another BF we have spend 3 years together. U only have to learn how to move on with life, by forgiving and forget all the bad things what yo ex BF did to u and as well the pain u passed in after heartbreaking, bse if u don't forgive him u will remain a loser. u said like u cant just connect to really great men? that's happens bse of that brick wall u built in your minds after the broke up, U have to admit the fact that men are not the same, one can be bad and other one is good, and also love is like a game be for finding Mr right u lose or u win with Mr right, but if u lose it doesn't mean u gonna be a loser for ever. Gal u have to move on with your new life and forget all the past, some one to broke your heart it doesn't mean its the end of the world or load, try your luck at the end of the day u gonna find Mr perfect for u who will wipe all your tears and pains way.
