Why am I feeling sad?
Posted by: Treats_00 on November 09, 2008

My live in boyfriend has a job that sometimes takes him away from home during the week. Since we have moved in together he has been working close to home and hasn't had to travel. The past couple weeks he has been 3 hours away and away all week. I feel like we have a solid foundation and this change wouldn't upset me as much as it has. I find myself feeling sad, crying often, not wanting to do the things I would normally do when he is here ie. chores around the house. I don't even like sleeping in the bed we share. He's only gone 5 nights but I feel almost disabled. I love my friends and family, and would go to them for extra company but I just don't feel up to doing anything with them. I don't know if this has stemmed from something I am suppressing. I know these feelings are a little obscure since I know he is going to be home in such a short time, but I still can't help feeling this way!

I think you need to find yourself again, take up a new hobby, volunteer, exercise, learn some new recipes, etc. You need to figure out how to be happy without him and not be so needy! That's not supposed to sound mean, your ability to enjoy life alone will only enhance the feelings you have when he is around.
