Does the man in your life need a little help in the fashion department? Let Ylana Harel give you some style tips. ![]() Also, if you’re like me and met your man during the winter months, you’re probably not sure what he looks like without a hoodie, jacket and jeans. So, to avoid any potential disappointments, now’s the right time to learn ways to dress your man for summer so that even if he has a less-than-perfect body, he’ll look just as good as you do. Say Goodbye to Socks and Shoes Here’s one of my basic rules for summer (basic for the fashion savvy, that is). Never wear ¾ length shorts with socks and sneakers, which, unfortunately, was my man’s first outfit for summer. What happens when you pair the two together is that your man’s body appears dwarfed, or shortened, since the ¾ length pant looks like it should be the actual length of the pant-leg, slightly too short to reach all the way down to his ankle. Instead, if wearing the ¾ pant (or cargo shorts) with sneakers, wear a sneaker which is no higher than a sandal, rising to just the bottom of the ankle. Socks should also only rise to this height, folded down if too long (lighter coloured socks, rather than dark is preferable). This way, the pant will achieve the look that it was made for: to hang below the knee and far enough from the foot so that it looks like the summer pant that it is. Cargo Style This pant, in my opinion, should be worn with sandals. Because it is a summer pant, it’s not only more logical to wear them with sandals, but it also looks more stylish. The foot, in a sandal, is exposed, so that the bare ankle elongates the leg (and shows off the calf muscle, which we barely got a glimpse of during winter), rather than separating the knee from the foot, which this pant can do if worn incorrectly. |
