Finding The Perfect Suit[Men's Fashion]

They say 'the suit makes the man.' And just as all men are unique, the suits are no exception. Rakesh Singh goes through some current styles so you can find the perfect suit for you. More than any other outfit, a suit makes a man. It reveals to others, how you see yourself. You have the opportunity to express something with every single aspect of your suit – the length of the blazer, the pattern on the tie, the cut of the collar, and so much more. The fact is though, many men think there is a generic look that they should be going for when it comes to sporting a stylish suit – like something out of a catalogue. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Can you see a distinct difference between the looks of James Bond and Frank Sinatra? Sure you can. How about Humphrey Bogart and Vito Corleone (Robert De Niro’s character in The Godfather II). No doubt about it. Let’s take a look at four distinct styles that will make you take a second look at what a suit can do. 1. Assassin Style Ever notice how assassins are always dressed to kill? It’s because their work demands that they be taken seriously. You can never mistake the bad guy in a slick action film for this very special reason. So if you're looking to turn heads, this look is perfect for the office or the café. __________________________ The Elements The Shirt – Wide-open collar, striped shirt with contrasting collar and cuffs. So if the shirt is blue, the collar and cuffs might be white. Make sure this is a French cuff shirt. The Pants – Relaxed fit, tapered and flat-fronted. Avoid the peg-leg hem. The Hem of your pants should fall a ½ inch over your shoes. The Cuff Links – Good cuff links add a flourish of personality. On a full suit this is the place where you can show a little bit of yourself. Just make sure the jacket sleeve falls ½ inch above the cuff. The Belt – Nothing fancy, you don’t want your belt to distract from the whole package. Go for a matte black belt with a flat front. The Shoes – Since this suit is straight up go for classic styled shoes like a Churchill or wingtip styles. __________________________ The Message you can look, but don’t touch. 2. Chillin’ Style Would you rather be skateboarding than working? The punk rockers have made a few modifications to the classic style suit for just the occasion. __________________________ The Elements The Blazer – Use a two buttoned blazer and keep one of the buttons fastened at all times. The Shirt – You are going to keep the jacket and the pants but instead of the dress shirt, substitute it with a v-neck t-shirt or a crew t-shirt in a solid color or in white. The Shoes – Ditch the classic shoes and go with a wicked pair of sneakers. Make sure that your kicks have a real blast of color and are dripping with personality. This is to offset the subtle nature of the rest of suit. Also, watch that the hem of your pants doesn’t cover your styling kicks. __________________________ The Message what the hell are you lookin' at? |
