5 Traits Of A Good Couple by Mike Thornburn

Mike,

I can't believe that you actually added sex to your list of what makes a good couple. Yes it IS important, but you make it sound as though a couple HAS to be having sex in order to be happy:

"...sex does go a long way in giving a relationship more potential to become serious and long lasting..."

If this is true, then I challenge the author to explain to me why the marriages of old (i.e. the ones that happened before premarital sex was even an option) are outlasting the marriages of today. My goodness, this society is becoming so obsessed with sex that it is almost sickening. Its just sex people – really now!

Cheers,
Daphne Reynolds

Hello,

Mike Thorburn's article '5 traits of a good couple' is good, however I believe one key trait is missing – Respect! He should add that in...

7 Traits of Highly Successful People by Sandra Baptist

Dear Editor,

I don't know if it is common for you to receive feedback from a reader with a flat out compliment, but I've read "7 Traits of Highly Successful People" and I think it's very well written. So, congratulations on hitting this nail directly on the head! I'm an award-winning young entrepreneur, visual artist and singer/songwriter so I related to your article.

I particularly enjoyed the following, to quote: "It is truly frightening that approximately 95% of the population drift along in jobs they hate, with lives unfulfilled."

Well said! I struggle with this idea that most people accept jobs they don't enjoy, and our society seems to foster status quo. You've also given people hope through this article and for that I had to reach out and say thank you.

Please keep up the excellent work.

Sincerely,
Adam Harnett

How To Know If He's Lying by Terence Fernandes

Editor,

I’d have to say that Terence Fernandes is right on with those details. Body language is the lion’s share of communication – what a person does tells more than what they say. The most important point Terence makes is in his last sentence, which is to “Be happy and place your paranoia on the shelf, once a lady finds out her man is telling her the truth.

Sometimes, her trust level drops so much when facing a peculiar situation that she may continue to probe and lose his trust; ladies, if the story checks out, just face the fact that you have a good guy! It can happen, you know…

Thanks for the good read,

6 Tips on Playing it Cool During An Ex-Sighting by Justine Kim

Justine,

You cover a lot of points in your article on running into the ex, but what the article fails to touch on is what if children were involved and present at this chance meeting? I don’t think phony hugs and small talk really make anyone feel better.

I thankfully kept my son as separate as possible from this relationship and didn’t want to let her have the satisfaction of seeing him when I was not given the opportunity to do likewise with her daughter whom I was very close with. Life can be a big mess sometimes!

The World's 10 Greatest Wine Regions by Justine Kim

Editor,

I believe British Columbia wines should have made the top ten list. They at least should have bumped the Niagara ones off the list! With the number of VQA wineries in BC, our area wins so many top awards. Wineries like Cedar Creek, Mission Hill and Quail`s Gate, to name a few, offer quality products that are popular around the world. Please consider them in your next list – Canadians do!
