![]() Removal creams aren’t much different than razors. Instead of a blade, these creams work with a special chemical that removes hair. Never use the product on your face unless the bottle says you can because it’s quite strong and can easily irritate your skin, especially if it’s sensitive. Hair removal cream is rather time-consuming because once you apply it to the chosen area, you must wait a few minutes before you can wash it off. Also, if you don’t leave it on for long enough, your skin will still be prickly. On the other hand, if you leave it on for too long, your skin will start to sting. All in all, using a hair removal cream is a hassle unless you have plenty of time and patience. Pros: There is virtually no pain and some of them smell great. Con: Use at your own risk! Waxing This is probably your best option. The benefits far outweigh the disadvantages and that is what I focus on. Waxing is best when it done by a professional at a salon. Nevertheless, it is something you can master in your own home, it just takes a little practice and a lot of guts. The great thing about waxing is that it removes the entire length of hair, not just the part on the skin’s surface. This means, of course, that it will take a lot longer for the hair to grow back. And once your hair does grow back, it will be a bit finer than before, making it less conspicuous. Overall, I would say this is the best method for your legs and bikini region. Pros: It’s affordable and reliable. Con: Get ready for pain – lots and lots of pain (but well worth it.) Threading Threading is currently making its debut in beauty salons. Essentially, the process uses the length of a thread to get rid off finer hair on your face for a more precise and clean removal. Threading is a little pricey because it’s not yet widely used. Nevertheless, it’s definitely worth it and not too painful. This is a great option for your upper lip hair and eyebrows. Pros: Clean results and very precise. Con: A very new process which means you’ll need to pay up. Bonus: A Tip for Ingrown Hairs It would be wrong to talk about hair removal without offering some advice on the most common side effect – ingrown hair. To get rid of ingrown hair, use a lotion with glycolic acid. It is the best remedy since it removes the layers of dead skin from that area. Alternatively, try an acne medication or tea tree oil. _________________________ take it all off In addition to the methods above, there is electrolysis, laser treatment, and many other options. No matter which method you choose, carefully consider which one suits you best. Don’t be afraid to ask questions at your salon and do some research before you invest your time and money. After all, it’s your skin – and that’s important! |
