An Alternative to the Phone

The following letter is in regards to the article Why Men Don't Call.

I’ve dealt with this problem and I’ve realized this: men love to hide in email. So after a date, I never give them my phone number – what's the point? I give my email and I always get an email back.

Works every time.

More Grooming Tips

I just read your article 10 Grooming Tips Women Want You To Know. I'd like to add a few tips of my own for men who want to attract a woman:

1) Most importantly, baseball caps are for boys up to the age of 13 and no further. After this age, it’s like seeing a baby's bib on an adult – not to mention a lack in IQ.

2) No baggy pants and no crotches in the middle of the knees.

3) No Mr. T's reject collection of gold anything.

4) Get a haircut!

5) No 'comb overs' – celebrate and be bald.

6) Go to the gym.

7) Wear decent shoes. No kicks/gym/running shoes unless you are at the gym.

8) No foul language.

9) Have manners – open doors, etc.

10) No mustaches (by themselves) – they look cheesy. And if you must have facial hair, keep it trimmed. In fact, keep all your body hair trimmed.

Editor’s Note: We can never offer enough of these tips and for some reason, the men's grooming articles are some of the most popular ones on TheSoko.com. Thanks very much for these suggestions.

Women and Hockey

I took mild offense (very mild) to the article 5 Things To Do While He Watches Hockey. I am a longtime hockey fan. In fact, I know more about the game, the rules, the teams, the players and the history than my boyfriend and most guys I know. Not every female in the world is unfamiliar with popular organized sports.

I do however like the suggestion that women sit down and learn about the game. It is a fast paced, exciting, and enjoyable sport to watch and they are fairly simple rules to learn. Most men would be flattered that you are interested in the game and be happy to explain it to you. Plus, you then get a share of the beer and the pizza.

Cheers,
Abby

Editor’s Note: Of course, the ideal scenario would be for women and men to have an equal affinity for hockey - but that's not normally the case. Nevertheless, we realize it is a blatant generalization to suggest that hockey is only for men! Thanks very much for the note and Go Leafs Go!
