Finding a great-fitting pair of jeans can sometimes feel like searching for the Holy Grail. Lisa Xing gives you pointers on how to find the perfect fit.
People can grow attached to their jeans. I sure do, so much so it’s hard to let go of a pair, even when you know you should. This doesn’t mean you should get rid of the pair completely. Keep it with you to wear, but sometimes, it’s time to search for something that doesn’t sag to the knees at the crotch. Of course, this process isn’t necessarily easy. That’s probably part of the reason people grow so attached to their favourite pair in the first place. With that said, there are a few guidelines to keep in mind when shopping for a new pair. These tips could save you a lot of distress and discomfort.
Jean Challenge Finding a pair of jeans that fit you in every spot is tricky. Some find it almost impossible so they settle on a few good features and ignore the rest. Most people gauge their jean variety by gathering information from what jeans look like on other people. This is deathly wrong. This is because the person will then go in search of that pair of jeans thinking it will fit the exact same way. When they don’t, they get discouraged. The thing to remember is that jeans are as unique as snowflakes. That is, they look different on everyone because nobody has the same body type. With that said, there are some other things to take into consideration when looking for your own pair.
The Jean Pool Height is one of the most important things to take into consideration when you go shopping for jeans. Obviously, taller people have it easier as you have more to choose from and can pretty much wear any style and get away with it. Low-waisted jeans are made for tall people. You don’t have to worry about your legs looking short and they can do wonders for accentuating your abs (that is, if you have them!). High-waisted jeans also work as they’ll just make your legs look even longer and leaner.
If you’re short, you’ll definitely have less to choose from in the jean pool. If you absolutely want to wear low-rise jeans, make sure they are wide in the legs. If not you’ll look significantly shorter because of where the waist cuts off on you. Higher-waisted jeans (or even mid-waisted) can do wonders for a short frame. They will instantly lengthen your legs.
