Vitamin A
Found in: Red and green vegetables

It makes sense that our parents always wanted to make sure we ate our vegetables as kids. Vegetables are universally touted as the healthiest of food items, so it doesn’t take studies to figure out that it’s not only good for your body, but also good for your face (and skin in general). Like zinc, vitamin A has been proven to help fight acne and is famously used in many acne medications and anti-aging creams. Vegetables contain beta-carotene, which our body converts to vitamin A. It is especially high in orange and red coloured vegetables.

Spinach and other leafy greens provide loads of vitamin A for healthier skin as well. It is important to remember though that while many supplements are available to provide you with your daily dose of vitamins, it is best to get your daily requirements naturally. Too much of vitamin A in your system can cause health problems, while the excess of all the other vitamins is just put out of the body, so all those pills are basically a waste of money.

Vitamin E
Found in: Nuts

Vitamin E is an excellent free-radical-fighting antioxidant. It helps protect the skin from sun damage that results in the production of free-radicals due to exposure UV-sunlight. The vitamin also helps the skin retain moisture, which relieves dryness leading to younger looking skin. Not only are nuts, like almonds, walnuts, and pistachios, full of the vitamin but they are also a good source of the previously mentioned fatty-acids.

You Are What You Eat
A healthy body means healthy skin. Just feed your body well with healthy choices, incorporate some exercise in your daily routine, and reduce your stress levels and your face will display the results.
