Feeling the aftereffects of all the BBQ’s, patio drinks and lazy camping trips this summer? Dan Grant shares some insight on staying healthy this summer. ![]() I’m just finishing up a road trip vacation that took me all the way to San Diego for a few days. As you can imagine that’s A LONG drive from Edmonton and after a stop in Las Vegas for the Cirque de Soleil show of The Beatles called Love, a couple Padres baseball games, numerous occasions of ‘numb bum’, and shuffling through my cd’s of Jack Johnson, Eminem, Dave Matthews Band, Dierks Bentley, and Lady Antebellum more then a few times on the drive I’m more then ready to get back into the gym and get my diet back on track. All my thinking on getting back into it I realized that it’s about the time of the year when a lot of people are thinking about getting back into exercise. After a summer with a nice mix of vacation, barbeques, beer, and ice cream you may have found that your figure may be paying the consequences. Don’t Fall Prey Commercial gyms love this time of year because they know you will fall prey to paying them large sums of money for their crappy trainers who just want to make the $20-30 they make off the 60-80 bucks they charge you. Now I guess that’s not much considering I’m quite a bit more then that but for what you get from commercial gym trainers (some not even certified) it’s a ridiculous amount. Anyways, you know by now how much I like to bash the commercial gym system so I will move on before you just stop reading all together.
