Oblong
Basically the same as the oval face, only with narrower cheeks and chin. This face shape can easily pull off the coveted oversized frames, but it is best to go with ones with rounded edges. Anything narrow can bring out the narrowness of the cheeks and chin, and will elongate the face further. Try shades a la Jackie O in different colours and patterns to add some edge to your look.

Square or Rectangular
A square forehead and jaw create a great sharp face shape that can take heavily embellished and defined frames. It is important to avoid rectangular and square frames, as well as anything overly geometric, however, to avoid emphasizing the face shape further. Go for anything round or oval, as well as thick frames to get an edge-y look.

Round
Round faces feature round cheeks, narrow forehead, narrow jaw, and a face width closely equal to its length. Just like with square faces avoid square frames, people with round faces must avoid round frames. It will only emphasize the face shape and will not flatter it. Opposites attract here, so to compliment the face shape, try pointed, rectangular frames to balance out the face.

Just like hairstyles, your eyewear should frame your face and compliment it. If you are going to hide your eyes, you might as well cover them with something attractive. Don’t be afraid to try different colours, patterns and styles, just make sure to pay attention to your facial features. And remember, not only are sunglasses accessories, they are necessary to protect the health of your eyes.
