A lot of couples eventually move in together.  But sometimes, this can be a mistake that results in the two people hating each other while they frantically search for a new apartment to escape the hell that has become their lives.  But I know what you’re thinking, “That’s not me and my girlfriend.  We’re different!  We’ll beat the odds!”

Fair enough. I can’t completely discount that ridiculous mindset because I have witnessed happy couples who share an apartment.  Here are some keys to success that can lead to successfully cohabiting:  

You Can’t Predict a Breakup…Ever

Though it seems as though only a sociopath would sit around predicting how much longer his relationship is going to last, it may be worth taking some time to think about it.  Are you so happy that you don’t see any end in sight?  Is the passion starting to fade?  Do you still think you’ll be with this person a year from now?  How about five years?

If you fear a breakup on the horizon, do not move in together!  Not only will you suffer through the breakup, you’d also have to find a new place to live.
