Feel Good Every DayBy Dan Grant [Health & Your Life]

![]() Happiness and feeling good are already in you, but if you enjoy an expensive pair of jeans then wear them. I believe it’s important to enjoy the fine things in life; the key is just not letting them represent your happiness or put your power in them as the reason that you do feel good. If you lose them then that shouldn’t change your happiness at all, because you’ve been smart enough to put that power in yourself and know that material things can bring some happiness and feeling good, but they are not who you are. That’s the important thing here. It’s about discovering who you are, what your values are, and why you do the things you do. I love wearing expensive jeans and most people think I’m crazy and stupid for ‘wasting’ my money on them. But when I wear a $30 pair of track pants I still feel good and am happy because my pants aren’t who I am. I just really like them and think they look great on me. I don’t need a Jaguar X9 but my goal is to one day own one. If I never get one and I stick with my trusty Corolla then my level of happiness isn’t going to change because my car isn’t who I am. I am who I am and nothing material or any other person’s opinion of me is going to change who I am. That’s one reason I can take criticism fairly well. Because other people’s opinions of me are just that…their opinions. I can’t control what they think of me or my thoughts so why would I let that determine who I am as a person. Am I Even Right? I’m not saying I’m always right or that my opinions are for everybody, but I believe what I believe because of my own thoughts and conclusions. Not because somebody told me to believe a certain way. That’s what gives me the confidence to believe and teach what I believe in. I did the critical thinking of all the opinions and thoughts out there. I don’t do what everybody else does for the simple fact that everybody does it. To me, that’s stupid and way too much herd following. If I do something that everybody else is doing it’s for a good reason. Too many people just listen to the news or look at the way the world works and just accepts it as is. That’s ridiculous. I’m not saying that change for the better is an easy thing but it’s a necessary thing to go after. Accepting things ‘as is’ is essentially a huge mistake in my opinion. As more and more people get unhealthier and more stressed over life, work, and whatever else, to me that means there are BIG TIME problems not only in the world but the way we live. The rat race mentally is not something I choose to buy into and the work your ass off for a couple weeks vacation a year is also something that I choose to never do (obviously, these are just some examples). True and lasting happiness and feeling good comes from the work you do on yourself. Changing yourself can change the world around you for the better or the worse. It depends on how you change yourself and what kind of work you do on yourself. If you read the good books and write your thoughts and feelings on paper and work on discovering who you are then I guarantee the world around will change for the better. If you eat the junk or get drunk with friends all the time or just sleep for hours and hours then you are for one thing holding yourself back from your best life and that to me means that you are actually heading down the road to worse change. But as always, these are just my thoughts in an effort to help you and make your life and world better. So I’d love to hear back from you on this one.
