It’s been said that being a man means doing crap you don’t want to do.  In terms of a relationship, the stuff you don’t want to do usually boils down to a series of social events that your girlfriend asks (or demands) that you escort her to.  But does being in a relationship mean you have to go to every square dance and sock hop that comes up?  No!

Weddings

Yes, weddings are a huge hassle. You have to get dressed up, you have to dance, make small talk with the guests and go to a church to watch two strangers throw their lives away. 

For all those reasons, most people will try to RSVP “no” to as many weddings as possible.  This means that if your girlfriend has asked you to be her date, she is somehow obligated to attend.  Since it’s going to be a long, boring day for her, be a Good Samaritan and help make the day bearable. If you go, at least she’ll have someone to make snide comments with.
