Do you know how much you are spending each week? What about each month? Many of us probably don’t want to think too much about an exact figure because, well, it may just be cringe-worthy. Many of our expenses from month-to-month are ones we barely notice--$3 for a coffee here, $5 for a snack there. But, it’s these little expenses that add up because we simply forget about them. There are ways you can curb these habits though, and save your green for more important things.

Record Every Expense
Spending less and saving a lot can start with the simplest thing—writing down each and every single one of your expenses and adding it up at the end of the week. This way, you will have a precise idea of how much you are spending and how much you should be cutting back. It will surprise you how much of your money goes toward frivolous things like snacks or coffee each month. If you’re looking to save, it is these types of expenses you should be trying to cut back on. Why not make your own coffee in the mornings instead? Resisting buying snacks will not only be good for your wallet, but it will also be good for your health. Instead, pack some veggies and fruits, or carry around a few granola bars with you to quell your hunger.
