![]() If every time you start to chat with a woman at the bar, and she’s laughing and having a good time, one of your buddies—your wing-man even—swoops in and sweeps her off her feet, then it’s time to make changes. Talking is always the first step. Sometimes those single friends who make trouble with their competitive nature, do it because it’s part of their personality to be competitive. In fact, they probably don’t even realize that they’re actually breaking one of the cardinal rules of friendship. Have a talk, preferably somewhere private where they won’t feel like they’re being attacked and see where that gets you. If you don’t see any changes after a conversation, it’s probably time for action. Abandon your competitive friends when you go out into the world looking for love. If they’re still dragging you down, think about looking for new friends. Ready, Set… Go! Keep competition in your life. It is good for you. It will keep you fresh and in the game. After all, the quest for love is a competition itself. But if your friends are dragging you down with their competitive spirit, nip it in the bud before you’re in some big competition trouble. |
