Which item should you see your doctor about before you leave? Jenny Ferguson has some insider tips for what to put in your luggage. ![]() Being on the road means having to make due when you realize you left something important at home or having to buy something on the fly. Avoid frustration and save money by bringing these five items along with you. A Reusable Bag A reusable bag that rolls up nice and small and weighs next to nothing will be worth more than its weight in gold. You can use your bag to carry your things to the beach, instead of taking a heavy and potentially expensive purse. A reusable bag fits into your day pack in case you buy a few too many souvenirs while you’re out and about. You can also use your bag when you travel from one destination to the next. Pack your snacks in it or use it for your luggage overflow. Look for a reusable bag such as Envirosax (http://www.envirosax.com/) brand. It’s fashionable, takes up very little space in your pack and is durable enough to last you trip after trip. To top it off, a reusable bag should cost you under $10. Shower Flip-Flops The worst thing about staying in hostels, B&Bs and hotels for me is stepping into the bathroom without my socks on. And showering with socks on is just a little crazy. So that’s the main reason shower flip-flops are a must-pack. But shower flip-flops have quite a few other uses. You can wear them to the beach and not worry about having an expensive pair of shoes ruined or have them disappear while you’re swimming in the ocean. When it’s raining, instead of bulky rubber boots, you can wear your flip-flops. They also make a great spare pair of shoes when you’ve got blisters or your other shoes need to air out a bit! Be sure to buy plastic flip-flops so that they dry quickly. You should find a pair for under $10. Try Old Navy for a wide selection of colours. |
