What is one reason for a break up that no one can argue with?  Sarah Stefanson tells women when it’s okay to end it.
Breaking up with someone can be a huge decision.  Depending on how long you’ve been together and how serious your relationship is, the choice can have major consequences for your life.  The right thing to do is not always clear, but there are some situations where you are most likely better off being alone.

This week in View From Venus, I have some good reasons for ladies to break it off with their significant others, while over in Message From Mars, Matthew will advise the men on when it’s time to call it quits.

Abuse

The one nearly inarguably good reason to break up is if your relationship involves emotional, physical or sexual abuse on either of your parts.  No one should be subjected to abuse in what should be a loving and supportive relationship.  Even healthy couples will have fights and every one of us will sometimes say things we don’t mean, but if disagreements extend to abuse, it’s time to call it quits and no one would fault you for making that decision.

Happiness vs. Unhappiness

A good test of whether a relationship has run its course is to ask yourself if you are unhappy more often than you are happy.  Every relationship will have complicated or down times perhaps influenced by other aspects of your lives like especially busy times at work or a death in the family.  However, if under normal circumstances, you find that your relationship is more negative than positive, it’s a good sign that it’s time to move on.
