University students in North America have four months every year when they are free to leave their campuses and forget about their studies at least for a little while.  And every winter, these students try to escape the reality of exams, essays and ever tightening deadlines by daydreaming about where they’ll be come May.  Will they take off for parts unknown and experience adventure upon adventure?  Or will they find a job and make a handful of cash?  Or is there something else?  Is there another option?

There’s a great way to spend your precious summer that allows you do a little bit of both:  make money and have a travel adventure you’ll remember forever.  Here are three reasons why you should look for a camp job this summer.

A Vacation And A Job

Escape from where you go to school without moving back into your parents’ house.  One of the greatest parts about getting a job at camp is being able to spend the summer away from home.  Take a look on the internet for the camp of your dreams in the location of your dreams.  Are you a fan of the mountains?  Or would you rather spend time in California near the ocean?

There are summer camps all over the United States of America and in Canada.  Pick your destination and apply for a job.  Then you can combine the thing you need to do this summer, which is make some money, with the thing that you would much rather be doing, enjoying the freedom of the summer season.

Sleep-away camps will help you save money, see a new part of the world and bring more of your paycheque home.  Since room and board are covered while you’re working, you can ensure that you bring home money instead of spending it on the things you normally have to pay for when you travel.  Instead of working at McDonald’s and spending your entire paycheck trying to forget that you work at McDonald’s, you’ll help yourself save.

Build Your Resume

Have a fabulous summer and build job experience that looks good on a resume no matter what you want to do when you grow up while you explore another place in the world.  Working with kids impresses most employers.  It shows that you have patience in spades and that you are highly responsible.

Summer camp employment also allows you to specialize in something that you love to do and something that you might want to do for the rest of your life.  If you’re an artist, working in art all summer is a great way to stay fresh and to get experience.  If you’re looking to keep playing your sport in the future, you can work at a sports camp, keep in shape and help get kids revved up for their sport!  Find a camp where you can do what you love.

Spending a summer at camp will help you learn more about yourself and you will stretch yourself to the limits.  You will develop skills employers love to see and have a ready supply of answers for those problematic interview questions.  After a summer at camp, you’ll have the perfect answer for your best and worst qualities when you’re being interviewed for your dream job.
