Things Women Should Let Slide

Girl Friends

Just like women have their go-to guy friends, men are entitled to their girl friends, as well.  It’s not particularly healthy for a couple to be completely dependent on each other.  It’s important to have a balance and that means associating with people outside of coupledom.  He might go to a girl friend when it comes to certain interests you don’t share, but don’t be intimidated.  You should have yours as well.

Ex-Girlfriends

The topic of ex-girlfriends is a tricky issue because different people are obviously going to have different views on this one.  This also pertains to the dynamic between certain couples.  However, as a general guideline, there really shouldn’t be a huge problem with a guy connecting with his exes once in a while.  After all, they probably shared a good chunk of time together.  What you should be more concerned with are the exes he doesn’t speak with.  Those are the girls you know affected him a lot more and probably meant more.  But of course, since he doesn’t talk to them, you may be compelled to concentrate your worrying on the exes he does associate with.  Often, it’s much better to keep quiet about it since it won’t be anything but a friendly catch-up 90 per cent of the time.

Guys’ Night

Don’t harp on your guy if he wants to go out with the guys, regardless of whether it’s a Halo marathon or going out to the club.  Having some space between you two is a good thing and can make the relationship stronger.  You have to be okay with not being with the person constantly in order to be okay with them in a relationship.  This is the general rule.  Don’t harp on him for coming home late either.  You would want him to be okay with you staying out late with your girlfriends, right?

Chill Out

Some of the things mentioned above may not feel instinctual to women (or men).  But, there are times when we know what’s better for ourselves and the relationship.  This means letting certain things slide that you normally may not.  Even though it’s hard, we all have our irrational times and it’s up to you to discern when it’s appropriate to pipe up and when to swallow your pride.
