What’s the most important quality for a dedicated shoe hunter to have? Lisa Xing tells you how to spot the deals and save a little money in the process. ![]() Wait For The Sales One of the best ways you can save some money is probably the hardest: waiting! Shoes always go on sale, especially at the end of the season, depending on the retailer. For most mid-sized retailers, they will eventually go on sale, as they need to make room for new styles for the new season. Sometimes, these sales can be pretty substantial—around half off, again, depending on the retailer. But there is no harm in asking at your favourite store about potential sales coming up. That’s all part of their job. However, it’s much harder to find designer shoes on sale and that’s when other techniques come into play. Kids' Sizes This is one I personally swear by, although I admittedly do have tiny feet. Often, many companies make the same styles of shoes in both women’s and children’s sizes. What’s even better is that the larger end of children’s sized shoes really do correspond to smaller women’s sizes, like size 3 and 4. This way, you save money because they are usually cheaper, but you also save on tax (if you’re in Canada, at least). |
