Don’t forget that if you do decide to purchase shoes that are on the lower end of the quality scale, be sure to stock up shoe essentials, like shoe pads and inserts.  They will do wonders in terms of saving your soles (no pun intended) from too much wear and tear.  However, with high heels, it’s probably a good idea to buy them even for designer brands, as they are never truly comfortable to wear, regardless of the quality of the brand.

eBay

eBay is probably one of the best ways, if not the very best way, to find cheap, new designer brand shoes.  Not only do people privately auction off these items, you can easily get them for much, much cheaper than the retail rate.  Also, many online companies sell their stock on eBay, which means that you have an online store where the brand new shoes often retail for at much as 60 or 70 per cent of the original price.  The only downside is that you probably will end up spending a lot of time browsing through the plethora of choices.

Vintage

Vintage shoe shopping is one of the very best ways to get unique styles, as well as great brands.  The vintage scene is a gold mine of rare, gorgeous shoes that you never would otherwise pay such a great price for.  Shopping vintage takes time though, because finding the right size to correspond to the style you want can be tough, if not downright impossible.  This is because you usually can’t find the same style in a different size.  However, if you have the patience, vintage shoe shopping can yield some extraordinary rewards.  You will almost never meet anyone with the same pair of shoes as you, you can probably find great designer styles (even rare ones) for cheap and the shoes will sometimes be already worn in for you, so fewer blisters!

When you’ve made the commitment to search for affordable, good quality shoes, the most important thing to have is patience.  The best pair may not always be at your fingertips and you should be ready for that and start your search again or delve deeper.  Ultimately, hard work does pay off in the end.
