![]() The important thing to take from this study is that even though much of America is still overweight, the push towards getting the citizens of the United States down to a healthy weight is finally beginning to take off. Many people are either fully health conscious or realizing that a longer life can be achieved by being more careful about what they eat. People are seeing results from working hard at an exercise program or carefully restricting their diets while counting calories as health and nutrition education is becoming ever more widespread. Because of this, it’s entirely possible that a domino effect is happening and people are seeing the negative effects of living off of greasy foods, trans fats and high salt levels. Go For It! By committing to achieving a healthy weight and exercising regularly, results can be attained. Even if the data from this study doesn’t paint a wholly positive picture of the weight loss situation in the United States, there is always hope for the individual. Don’t let the effort and the commitment of a weight loss goal scare you into backing down. If you made New Year’s resolutions earlier this year, now is the time to keep and maintain them.
