Is There Hope?

There is no doubt that maintaining a healthy and open relationship is daunting in today’s world.  It seems that almost every day we hear stories and gossip of relationships and marriages failing because one of the participants committed an infidelity.  But as we have seen in this series, there are many reasons why both men and women cheat and usually those reasons are unique to each relationship.  Usually though, these are small reasons that with a little work can be corrected.  If you do not want your relationship to fail because of infidelity, follow one simple rule that has the potential to make any relationship work:  communication.

If you sense a change in your partner or if you feel unhappy about your relationship, talk about it.  It’s as simple as that.  Chances are that your partner also has concerns and if you discuss those concerns, both you and your partner may be saving yourselves a lot of heartache and stress down the line, regardless of what is decided.

So Are We Really Monogamous?

There is a lot of evidence to suggest that we are naturally monogamous and there is also a lot of evidence to suggest that we are polygamous by nature.  The thing is, we are all different.  I’ll leave the answer to this puzzling question up to the readers.
