![]() There’s a reality that comes with making life changing decisions. Sometimes it takes some short-term pain to get long-term happiness. Waking up early to work isn’t the most life changing decision in the world, but even from that story you can see how the above applies. My eyes were tired, I didn’t want to think and I didn’t even know where to start so going back to bed was a very nice sounding option. But fighting through that short-term pain to get the article done opened me up to some stress free happiness later in the day. Sometimes you won’t feel like going to the gym or you’ll feel like you’ve been working hard enough to deserve a night filled with booze. But you have to fight through it and not let it happen. It takes discipline to be successful. So get your butt to the gym and say no to a night out. This is about you and your life. Most people don’t think and don’t care too much about themselves. If they did they wouldn’t go out every weekend to get drunk. They wouldn’t sit in front of a television and eat chips and drink pop. They would find time to exercise. Be Different The fact is that you want to be better, which means that you’ll have to be different than almost everybody. Be prepared to grow some thick skin and not listen to what ‘the herd’ is telling you. If you listen to them, you’re going to be just like them and if you’ve taken a look around these days, that’s probably not the life you want. Do you struggle with being disciplined?
