![]() The last point I want to make is this: you don’t know what you’re doing. You might make a habit of reading workout magazines, but it doesn’t make you an expert. You could have been in shape back in high school or college, but that doesn’t mean you know anything about getting back to that. Some guy on TV might tell you to do cardio for an hour a day, but listening to him doesn’t mean you know what you’re doing. Once you sign that year or two-year contract (that you CANNOT get out of, trust me, I’ve witnessed the horror stories), you are on your own. When they give you that list of exercises to start you out that has you going from machine to machine, don’t do it please. It’s just a waste of your time and I’m getting really tired of people telling me about their workouts not working and then telling me they just do machines. When you see the guy on steroids doing his arm workouts, don’t start doing arm workouts because it’s not going to work for you. When you are watching all the hot girls jogging on the treadmills for hours or doing whatever you do on an elliptical machine, it doesn’t mean that’s what you’re supposed to do. New Year’s Gym Membership January is right around the corner. The industry salivates at all the easy money they will be making after the New Year. Be smart and spend yours on something that will actually get you healthier long term. Agree or disagree? Email your thoughts to Dan at dan (at) thesoko (dot) com. Source: www.gymsuperstar.com |
