How can you use your sleep time more efficiently?  Reine Gammo shares a few tips on how to wake up beautiful.
After a long day, your tired, aching body is hungry for sleep so that it can recoup some energy and do it all over again once the sun rises on another day.  While it’s easy to just go to bed and let our bodies do the rest, we can actually use the time that we are sleeping to our advantage.  I know what you’re thinking:  you don’t want to do work while you sleep.  But it’s not like that.  We spend a third of our lives sleeping, so it only makes sense that we use that time to make our waking hours more enjoyable.  You don’t want to wake up looking horrendous and have to worry about cleaning up that mess.  Here are a few key things you can do to make sure you go to bed beautiful and wake up feeling good from the inside out.

Basic Science

Our bodies consist of 55 per cent water, so one of the easiest things to do to keep your body healthy is to keep it hydrated.  It’s that simple.  Even simpler than that, just drink a glass of water before you go to bed and it will keep you hydrated throughout the night and will aid with your bowel movements in the morning.  This is crucial to your overall health, as well as in keeping your skin looking healthy and glowing.

While we’re still on the subject of science, there have been many studies regarding posture and the way we sleep.  Lying on your stomach is bad for your skin and for your back.  This is a problem for many reasons.  Firstly, the average human head weighs about 8 pounds, which means you are putting pressure on your face whenever you lie on it.  Sleeping on your back is the best possible position to sleep in, while also making sure your head is elevated on a high pillow.

Rejuvenate While You Sleep

Just cleansing your face at night of all the dirt accumulated over the course of the day is not enough to keep it healthy.  You must moisturize properly at night so that your skin is prepared come morning.  Eye cream is crucial at night so make sure you apply some eye repairing treatment, with a light patting motion, to ward off those crow’s feet wrinkles.  Make sure it is a rich and nourishing formula, but one that is not heavy in texture as that will weigh down on the very thin skin underneath the eyes.  That’s not the only area in need of moisture.  Make sure you give that same attention to the rest of your face by using night cream.  You are never too young to start using one, so slather some on your face and neck to ward of those aging signs.  The neck and décolletage are often forgotten areas, but ones that can betray your age, so make sure you moisturize there as well.

A little trick that can give you an extra glow in the morning is to add a small dab of self-tanner to your creams.  Just a tiny amount used over the course of a few days will give you a sun-kissed glow.
