![]() Deciding what to cook and making sure you have all the necessary ingredients takes up tonnes of time every day. Instead of waiting until the last minute to decide what to make, draw up a meal plan for the week when you have a few moments on Sunday. Shopping for and executing this plan will take more than 10 minutes, obviously, but it shouldn’t take very long at all to put it together. Fall back on your favourite recipes if you’re really pressed for time and try out new meals when you have a little more time to devote to planning. Arrange Your Closet Depending on how many clothes you have, this may take longer than 10 minutes, but a quick reorganization of your closet shouldn’t take much. At the very least, you should organize your closet into different types of clothes. For instance, you should have a separate section for your shirts, pants, skirts, dresses and other items. This will make it much easier to choose what to wear in the morning than if you have to scramble among everything you own trying to find the brown skirt you have your mind set on. When you have a little more time, you might want to further your organization by dividing your clothes according to colour or style. Organize Your Desk For Maximum Efficiency Unless your desk is an absolute pigsty, it shouldn’t take long to reassess where you keep the items on and in it. Figure out what you use most and make it readily available. If you regularly find yourself pulling out your calculator, consider leaving it in the corner of your desktop for easy access. If you are constantly referring to your daybook, keep it in the top drawer. Things that you don’t need as often, like paper clips or file folders, can go in the bottom drawers. Of course, if there is something on or in your desk that you simply never use, toss it. Sign Up For Automatic Payments Are you spending too much time keeping track of your bills and paying them at the bank or through the mail? Go online and sign up for e-statements from your bank and all of your bills. Then, for bills that you pay regularly like the phone or electricity bill, set up automatic payments that come out of your bank account directly every month, so that you don’t have to worry about being late or missing a payment. This will not only save you time, but it will also help the environment. Time Flies You may not realize how all these little things add up to major time wasted in your life that you could’ve spent enjoying yourself. So instead of trying to find a way to squeeze even more into your life, why not cut down on what you’re already doing by making your day just a little more efficient. |
