![]() After the 60s, it has been a no-no to wear one colour from head to toe, however, things are going to change a little bit. Too much of one thing is never good, right? Not anymore. This style can help you elongate your frame, if you do it the right way. I will teach you how to pull this off. Step one: You can mix fabrics of the same colour to create a little bit of shape. For example, with cotton pants choose an embroidered top made of thicker fabric. Or with coloured jeans, wear a satin top of the same colour. Mix your fabrics and patterns and that will help create a little bit of form so it doesn’t seem like you are wearing one block of colour. Step two: When I said head to toe, I may have been exaggerating a little bit. Don’t go quite to the toe. Wear different coloured shoes, preferably in a neutral colour like nude, white or black. This will create a break in colour and add a little splash of the unexpected to your outfit. Step three: Keep your makeup and hair simple. You are already going over the top with a bright head to toe outfit, so there’s no need to exaggerate everything else. Simple is elegant. Hippie Chic This is a trend that has not died down completely and has been going strong since the 70s. There is a reason it has survived this long in the ever-changing fashion world: it is practical and looks really good (not that practicality was ever a must in the fashion world, but it is a good thing for us normal people!). Flared pants and floral tops are back in, along with tie-dyed items and platform heels. You can hardly go wrong with this one. Perfect for a day outdoors, basking in the sun and looking as radiant as the summer flowers. Sun-Kissed Makeup Makeup is always the cherry on top of your fashion sundae. The sun-kissed look is easy with a few golden, shimmery shades for your eye shadows, bronzers and even lipstick and nails. But remember, underneath all that, you should keep your skin protected whenever you are out in the sun to truly give your skin that radiant glow. If it is burned or crispy fried from sun exposure, your skin will look tired and you won't be able get any glow into it with any amount of makeup you use. Bright Lips This is the simplest thing you can do to make a big splash. Bright lipsticks in peach, rose hues and gold are perfect for any outfit, any place, any time. Just make sure they don’t clash with your outfit too much (especially if you’re wearing one colour from head to toe) and that they match your skin tone. If you have darker skin, you can pull off pretty much any shade you like. For lighter skin tones, go for something with a matte finish and maybe stay away from the bright gold. Remember, if you are wearing bright lipstick, keep everything else on your face simple, especially if this is your daytime makeup. Summertime And The Livin’ Is Easy There is no denying it now, summer is here and it is time to embrace summer fashion and let those winter blues melt away while basking in the summer sun. |
