![]() After the procedure, there is generally some swelling in the area treated, especially around the lips and eyes. The swelling may last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. The colours applied will appear darker immediately following the procedure, but will lighten during the healing process. In some cases, antibiotics will be given to the patient. The length of time it takes to heal is relative to each individual, however, some people are able to return to work the next day. Patients must diligently follow the post-procedure instructions in order to ensure better results and decrease the chance of complications. They may be asked to place ice or ointment on treated area and may also be asked to avoid sunlight. Possible Risks There is always a risk of infection and adverse affects to cosmetic tattooing. This is why it is pertinent to research your specialist to ensure they use the cleanest of tools and are experienced. Unclean tools can result in serious disease, even HIV or hepatitis. Scars, skin cracking, peeling and blistering are also a possibility. If you regret your decision or are not satisfied and want to remove your permanent makeup, it may prove to be difficult, particularly in sensitive areas such as the lips or eyelids. Make sure you feel completely comfortable with the procedure before receiving it. |
