All it takes is a little creative dressing.How To: Look Slimmer It is all about fabrics and cuts. Some fabrics can hide certain flaws and some can highlight them. Tights, for instance, are not pants and should not be worn as such. Tights show every single contour of your body; you might as well be naked. Tougher, thicker fabrics help shape and pull your figure together to make smooth curves. Jeans are a good example of that. However, we can’t wear jeans all the time, so you could try cuts that hug at the waist but are looser towards the bottom to hide any excess in the thighs and butt. Low waist pants make your butt look smaller, however, they can bring out the love handles at times, but for that there is another solution. An alternative to pants is the skirt, of course. Skirts are great for masking the butt/thigh area, especially ones that flow. Make sure they are not too tight in any area; around the waist they’ll bring out the love handles and too tight around the butt will be defeating the purpose. Skirts that are high-waisted and flowing are great at slimming down and hiding all sorts of flaws. How To: Hide Love Handles Almost everybody suffers from the love handles curse, unless you’re Adriana Lima, of course. There are many tricks to hiding love handles. One of which is to wear empire waist tops. These are great because they flatter the right areas and camouflage problem areas. Don’t wear these with a flowing skirt though, because it’ll look too ragged. Pair empire tops with tighter bottoms so as to create balance. Also, make sure these tops are not too long; they should cut off above your hips. Another trick is to wear tops that are a bit scrunched up at the waist. These create an illusion and cover the defining lines and curves of love handles. Also, you could wear button-up shirts that are slightly loose and either tuck them in or leave them out. These will cover love handles because they are not tight and will hang over your curves without hugging them and highlighting them. |
