Rachel McAdams has come a long way from the small city of London, Ontario. She’s snagged tons of juicy Hollywood roles while quickly becoming a style icon for savvy women everywhere.
This girly girl oozes sweetness, and dresses the part too. Don’t be afraid to put your own spin on her cute style.
Make-up
McAdams keeps her makeup natural, letting her youthful glow shine through at all times. Caking on makeup isn’t the way to capture her look, but being a little dramatic will work to your advantage.
Skip the foundation and just use concealer on your problem spots, using the pad of your pinky finger to dab it on and blend it in. Line your eyes with black eyeliner, drawing a thicker line towards the outer corners of your eyes. Don’t be afraid to use bright colours on your lids, like turquoise or fuchsia.
Keep your cheeks natural by using a soft pink cream blush. Bright red lips are a great touch—they’re both classy and sexy. Also, try some false eyelashes to give your eyes the extra something mascara can’t, but keep the length within reason.
To figure out the right length for you, fit the fake lashes to your eyelid and trim them so they're 2-3 millimeters longer then your real lashes. Apply a bit of lash glue to the edges of the lashes. Use tweezers to place them close to your lash line. Finish with a coat of mascara.
Hair
McAdams knows how to wear her gorgeous hair to her advantage.
For the Red Eye premiere, she wore her tresses in soft braids. This works best on fine to medium hair. For The Family Stone premiere, she pinned the sides of her hair back and teased the top.
Recently, she’s been sporting shorter layers and slanted bangs for a more modern shape.
If you have light hair, follow McAdams' example and darken your hair a shade or two to bring out your eyes and skin.
